Scattered Thunderstorms Forces Cancellation of Labor Day Classic Practice Night

Keeping the safety of teams and fans first, Volusia Speedway Park officials have canceled Friday’s Labor Day Classic Practice due to Thursday night’s heavily scattered thunderstorms that have impacted the Central Florida area.

Future events at The World’s Fastest Half Mile will not be affected. The next event at Volusia Speedway Park will be the Labor Day Classic racing program on September 2-3.

Further evaluation of the local weather forecast in Volusia County, Volusia Speedway Park officials concluded that the persistent rains and already saturated grounds have made the track unsafe for practice.

Racing will continue on Saturday, September 2nd for Night 1 of the Labor Day Classic.  Gates open at 4:00 P.M. with Hot Laps starting at 6:00 P.M.  CLICK HERE to see Special Event pricing.
