The second annual Battle in Barberville brings December racing back to Volusia Speedway Park.
This year, the three-day event, Nov. 30-Dec. 2, will showcase 360 Sprint Cars, DIRTcar UMP Modifieds and 3/4 Modifieds.
Thursday, Nov. 30, will be a practice night for all three divisions. Then, the 360 Sprint Cars will run Feature events Friday and Saturday, Dec. 1-2. The 3/4 Modifieds will join the Sprint Cars Friday night and the DIRTcar UMP Modifieds will join then Saturday night.
The winner of Saturday’s Battle in Barberville 360 Sprint Car Feature will be locked into the Saturday Feature of January’s Germfree Southern Sprint Car Shootout at Volusia (Jan. 25-27, 2024) – now a three-day event with a $10,000-to-win finale. Last year, Florida-native Tyler Clem won the Battle in Barberville and then went on to win the Sprint Car Shootout finale. If the Battle in Barberville winner secure’s a spot in Saturday’s Southern Sprint Car Shootout Feature, the guaranteed starting spot will go to the next highest finisher (from Saturday’s Battle in Barberville Feature) not already locked in.
Friday night’s Features will pay $2,000 to win for the 360 Sprint Cars and $500 to win for the 3/4 Modifieds. There’s also a $100 Quick Time Award and $100 Hard Charger Awards for the Sprint Cars. Then, Saturday’s Features will pay $3,000 to win for the Sprint Cars (along with the $100 Quick Time and Hard Charger Awards) and $1,500 to win for the DIRTcar UMP Modifieds.
